Sticks at the ready!
Walking in Eckernförde Bay
Whether you’re a beginner or an active athlete, Nordic walking is a gentle form of exercise which doesn’t put strain on the joints and is therefore ideal for anyone who would like to get moving in nature. It’s the perfect sport to improve stamina and fully appreciate the landscape at the same time.
Nordic walking in rapeseed fields
Eckernförde is surrounded by a gentle hilly landscape, peaceful lagoons, fascinating cliff coastlines, shaded woods, and blooming meadows. It’s a wonderful place to get your sticks out and take a walk in natural surroundings. The pure sea air will actively do your health good!
The circular route around Windebyer Noor is particularly popular with locals and visitors. The route is 7 miles long (8.3 miles with a detour to Kochendorf) and partly follows a nature trail which offers information about Noor’s surroundings and the local railway which used to run from Eckernförde to Owschlag before being decommissioned in 1950. The route is signposted. The start is at the free “Grüner Weg” parking lot (right by the B76) in Eckernförde.
